Playing Our Part
Prior to administering the COVID-19 vaccine among residents and staff on the Oak Hammock campus in December 2020, our aggressive testing strategy was imperative in identifying positivity on campus and mitigating spread of the coronavirus.
Now, we have shifted our approach to one more focused on increased vaccination for all residents and staff based on guidance from the Florida Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In an effort to keep the Oak Hammock community safe and healthy, all staff are now required to be fully vaccinated. To date, nearly 100% of residents and staff are vaccinated.
Our infection control nurse Elaine Dotten hosts a COVID-19 vaccination clinics often for residents and staff, free of charge. She also oversees the COVID-19 testing that takes place twice a week on campus.
