At Oak Hammock, we are committed to providing exceptional care for all of the residents living in all areas here on our campus. It is our pleasure to provide services and amenities for our residents as they age in place here with us. Furthermore, we are dedicated to providing a safe and rewarding work environment for our employees. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to preserve the well-being of everyone here at Oak Hammock. That’s why we have been conservatively following the infection control protocols set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and state and local governments.
To date, one of the tactics we have used to battle the coronavirus has been aggressive testing of staff throughout our campus. We are beginning to shift our approach, based on guidelines from the Florida Department of Health and the CDC, from testing to vaccination. We have already vaccinated nearly 140 residents and staff in the Health Pavilion. We are working closely with the Alachua County Department of Health and our pharmacy partner to schedule a vaccination clinic for our Independent Living residents and staff as well. We are working through the logistics of making the vaccine available as efficiently as possible.
Communicating updates around COVID-19 on our campus can be challenging. These web pages on our website are a place where we can share relevant, timely, accurate information. We also are offering the additional communications resources below.
