For many weeks, the Oak Hammock staff has anticipated and prepared for notification of COVID-19 on our campus. Our team has been trained in the use of personal protective equipment. They understand the importance of avoiding cross-contamination and are following disinfecting protocols approved by the Centers for Disease Control. We are trained, and we are ready.
We believe we have employed all appropriately recommended government and health department precautions. And, we will continue to monitor and follow all such directives.
We do have confirmed cases of COVID-19 among residents and staff at Oak Hammock. Because the safety and well-being of our residents and staff is our top priority, we have been vigilant about following CDC protocols, including notification of the Florida and Alachua County health departments.
We have notified residents, family members and staff of positive cases and continue to update them daily. We are working closely with government officials to ensure that all necessary steps are taken, including ongoing testing of residents and staff.
