Henrietta L. Logan, Ph.D., or Henri, found a passion for math and science during a time when women were discouraged from learning about these subjects. Why would a woman need to know about such things while tending to a husband and raising children? Henri shrugged off expectations and made a career for herself that eventually led her to the University of Florida, where she was a full professor and built collaborations and a research program in health sciences. Henri discovered another passion when she was a young girl – baseball! A former president of the University of Florida Gators baseball Dugout Club, Henri views the sport in a way most do not, combining her love of the sport with her fascination with physics and math.
