Oak Hammock at the University of Florida is a community where residents have a passion for lifelong learning. They value education and strive to support staff members who want to pursue higher learning.
The Oak Hammock Employee Scholarship Fund, “OHICAN!” was initiated in 2019. It is managed by Oak Hammock residents and the director of human resources. It provides financial resources through scholarships that support the educational endeavors and dreams of qualified employees.
It provides funding for all costs related to completing an approved degree or certification program, thereby reducing or eliminating student loan debt. To date, more than $100,000 has been paid directly to schools or institutions on behalf of the scholarship recipients.
