Parading next to the bocce ball court, the Florida Gators marching band performed in front of an adoring crowd of seniors cheering them on.
They had come back to the campus of the retirement community as a thank-you for hosting them when, during the COVID-19 pandemic, collegiate football was canceled and the band needed a nearby venue for its inaugural return rehearsal. That had been a physically distanced, less practiced event, and this time they could do it right with all the band members.
